Privacy Policy

This is the official website of NAVAGATI 2026, the NAVAGATI 2026 — International Conference on AI for Transportation and Mobility, organised by the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. The conference secretariat runs this website and is responsible for the information collected through it. Questions about this policy go to info@navagati-iitkgp.com.

What we collect

• Participant accounts (sign-up): your name, email address, category, and optionally your affiliation, phone number and country. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash.
• Proposal and paper submissions: the title, authors, abstract, keywords, sub-theme, the contact person's details and the PDF you upload.
• Registration, contact and newsletter forms: the details you enter in the form.
• Security records: with each submission, sign-in and account change we record the time, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. They protect accounts against password guessing and abuse. Per-IP request counters used for rate limiting are deleted after about a day.

Why we use it

We use this information only to run the conference: to review submissions, manage registrations, answer your questions, send the emails you asked for (account confirmation, password reset, submission and registration receipts, and the newsletter if you subscribed), and keep the website secure. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except where review of your submission or the law requires it.

Cookies and browser storage

• nav_at and nav_rt keep you signed in to your participant account (a 15-minute access token and a refresh token). Both are HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read them. nav_user only tells the page that you are signed in.
• The organisers' dashboard uses its own session cookie, set only for organisers who sign in.
• The ambient music player stores, for the current visit only (session storage), whether you muted it and how long it has played.

The website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Outside services

• The site's typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's font servers.
• The map on the home and venue pages is embedded from OpenStreetMap.
• Share buttons and the LinkedIn link only contact those services if you click them.
• The website, its database and its email run on our web hosting provider, MilesWeb.

How long we keep it, and your choices

We keep submissions, registrations and accounts for as long as they are needed to organise the conference and publish its proceedings. You can update your profile and password from your account at any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account and submissions deleted, write to info@navagati-iitkgp.com.

Security

The website is served only over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, uploaded PDFs are kept in the database and never run as files, and the organisers' dashboard is protected by its own sign-in. To report a security problem, see security.txt or email info@navagati-iitkgp.com.
